If you are planning to migrate your webshop data from WooCommerce to Stor below is a step by step guide on how this can be done.
Important to note: You can only import CSV files to Stor so please ensure all data that will be transferred is on a CSV file.
Data that can be transferred by CSV file upload: categories, products and coming soon: customers and orders. Blog posts and About Us, info pages will have to be added manually (copied and pasted).
We recommend downloading the WooCommerce Store Exporter Plug In - export WooCommerce Products, Orders, Categories, Tags, Users and other store details into Excel spreadsheets.
Exporting / Importing Categories:
Log in to your WooCommerce account and install the plugin. Once you have installed this, you can access your export option which will show on the left hand side menu of your dashboard. Select the ‘Store Export option’.
Once you have selected the Store Export option – you will see the below page. Firstly, export your categories by selecting ‘Export Categories’.
The below screen will appear and make sure the Categories option has been selected. Proceed by pressing ‘Quick Export’.
This will generate a CSV file with all of your categories. Once you have downloaded your WooCommerce categories CSV file, return to your Stor dashboard and select the categories tab on the left hand side.
Download the sample import template from Stor and fill in the data from your WooCommerce file to the Stor template. Please note that for the upload to be successful, the data will have to be added in the corresponding columns in the Stor file.
Once you have completed the Stor import template, please save and upload the file on your Stor webpage. If you have any queries about this feel free to get in touch with our Support team on Live Chat or via email.
Exporting / Importing Products:
With products, you will be able to export them either via the plug in we used above, go through the same steps but select ‘export products’. Alternatively, you can export your products by simply going on your WooCommerce dashboard and selecting products from the left hand side of your screen.
You will see on the top of the page ‘Add New, ‘Import’, ‘Export'. Select export to start the process.
You will then see the below screen – we recommend you keep as is and export all your columns, products and categories. The custom meta option should only be ticked if you have created any custom fields for your products, otherwise, leave unselected.
Once you have downloaded your export file, it is time to import the products to Stor. To import your products to Stor, log in to your Stor webpage and choose the products tab on the left side of the dashboard. Press the three dots on the right side to import your products.
Once you have selected import products, the below image will pop up on your screen. Download our sample import template and get ready to copy the information from your WooCommerce product CSV file to our sample import CSV file.
The WooCommerce CSV file format is slightly different to Stor’s CSV format - it is important to stick by our sample import template format for the file upload to be successful.
Our import template may look daunting but rest assured, you will be able to find all the necessary details to complete the columns from your CSV export file. The only thing that is absolutely necessary to complete in your Stor import file is name/title and price of your products. All other details can be added once the products have been imported.
When filling in the price, please do not include the currency symbol before the numerical value. In the visibility column, we do recommend for you to put ‘disabled’, this is so if any changes need to be done, you can go in and change it before it will be live on your page. If it is marked as enabled, when you import the product it will automatically be live on your Stor webpage.
In the quantity column, if there is a limited amount of the product type, please fill in the quantity amount in this column (if it is unlimited, please leave it blank). In the product type column, please include what type of product it is - in most cases it will be ‘physical’.
Copy and paste the data from your WooCommerce file into the corresponding columns in the Stor import file, click save and upload the file by pressing the green button as shown below.
