If you are planning to migrate your webshop data from Wix to Stor below is a step by step guide on how this can be done.
Important to note: You can only import CSV files to Stor so please ensure all data that will be transferred is on a CSV file.
Wix will allow you to export products, orders, and your contacts. Data that can be transferred by CSV file upload on Stor: products and customers (coming soon: orders).
Exporting / Importing Categories:
Unfortunately, Wix does not offer a way to export your categories data. We do recommend that you include your categories in the products CSV file or you will have to manually add the categories to your Stor webshop.
Exporting / Importing Products:
Log in to your Wix account and go to your Wix dashboard and select products.
To export all your products - press the export icon to download your products CSV file.
If you wish to export specific products, select which you wish to export by ticking the box beside the product. Then proceed by selecting export.
Once you have downloaded your export file and saved it to your device, it is time to import the products to Stor. To import your products to Stor, log in to your Stor webpage and choose the products tab on the left side of the dashboard. Press the three dots on the right side to import your products.
Once you have selected import products, the below image will pop up on your screen. Download our sample import template and get ready to copy the information from your Wix product CSV file to our sample import CSV file.
The Wix CSV file format is slightly different to Stor’s CSV format - it is important to stick by our sample import template format for the file upload to be successful.
Our import template may look daunting but rest assured, you will be able to find all the necessary details to complete the columns from your CSV export file. The only thing that is absolutely necessary to complete in your Stor import file is name/title and price of your products. All other details can be added once the products have been imported.
When filling in the price, please do not include the currency symbol before the numerical value. In the visibility column, we do recommend for you to put ‘disabled’, this is so if any changes need to be done, you can go in and change it before it will be live on your page. If it is marked as enabled, when you import the product it will automatically be live on your Stor webpage.
In the quantity column, if there is a limited amount of the product type, please fill in the quantity amount in this column (if it is unlimited, please leave it blank). In the product type column, please include what type of product it is - in most cases it will be ‘physical’.
Copy and paste the data from your Wix file into the corresponding columns in the Stor import file, click save and upload the file by pressing the green button as shown below.
Exporting / Importing Customer data:
To export your customer data from Wix, log in to your Wix account and go to your dashboard. Select the 'Contacts' option.
Select 'More Actions' and 'Export Contacts'.
You will then be able to choose if you only wish to export selected contacts or all contacts. Make sure the 'regular CSV file' is ticked and press 'Export'. Your customer data will be downloaded to your files.
Importing the CSV file to Stor:
To import your customer CSV file to Stor, please log in to your Stor account and from your dashboard select the 'Registered' option. Select 'Import'.
The below image will pop up on your screen - just as with products and categories, select the 'Sample Import' option.
Make sure to fill in all of your customer data from your Wix CSV file to the corresponding columns in the Stor sample import Excel sheet. Once this has been done, you just have to save the file and upload the customer data to Stor.
Please kindly note your imported customers passwords will not be imported with your data. Your customers will have to go to the 'Account' page on your shop and select 'Forgot Password'. They will then be sent a reset password link to their email and they can update their password that way.
