Search Engine Optimisation is a critical part of building an organically successful website. Within Stor you're able to update the Category Meta Title and Meta Description.
Meta titles give a brief description of the page content. These are generally shown on Search Engine Result Pages and give the potential visitor information about what the page contains from a quick glance.
Meta titles should ideally be between 50-60 characters and include specific "User readable" keywords for each page. Google specifically has updated its Search Criteria to give higher preference to a User First description and content. Essentially, don't "keyword stuff" your titles, descriptions, or content as this will only harm your SEO efforts.
Meta descriptions allow more space to give more detail about the page in question. An ideal length for descriptions in 2022 is between 150 - 160 characters. Within the description, you can add secondary keywords that are relevant to the page, again without "keyword stuffing" and keeping it Human readable.
Steps to Edit Your Category Page SEO
Once you've logged into your merchant admin via https://stor.co/users/sign_in head to the Category section from the left-hand menu.
Once within the Category overview page, you'll see all of the categories that you have set up for your shop. Click Edit next to the relevant category and then scroll down to the SEO section.
Now you can add or edit your Meta Title and Description and the character count above the box will automagically countdown the remaining characters.
